We’ve had a busy studio over the summer months as we welcomed back some of our Let’s Be Brief’ers into the fold.
During the past six weeks Makoto, Jade, Femi and Niquelle have been working on a very special project which will be revealed in the near future. But for now, mum’s the word.

On a sunny July day (not like today) we trotted off to the Shortwave Cinema in London Bridge for the screening of Affinity Sutton’s Green Stories. It was a lovely opportunity to meet up with the AS residents again and see them on the big screen!
Apart from their screen debut, the purpose of the event was to announce the competition winner who would receive the fabulous prize of a holiday for ten – yes ten – to the Eden Project.
We’re happy to announce the winner was… Jeanine & Eddie from East Grinstead with their Guerrilla Gardening story. The effervescent pair decided to bring a new lease of life to their residential home garden by planting on the barren land, but best to let you tell themselves. Just press play!

This time last year the wheels were set in motion to create a website that would get oodles of young people excited about the arts and their place in it.
Today, at the East Piazza in Covent Garden is the launch of RE:Creative a site that aims to do just that. Young people will have the opportunity to meet and interview established and upcoming artists, review the latest exhibitions, showcase their own work on the website and join a vibrant online community.
During the Let’s Be Brief sessions, which enabled us to create the brief, the young people were keen to shape the project and even challenge the idea of what art is;
“The past is inspiring, but the younger generation have fresh faces and ideas…from the pasts brilliant ideas the younger generation can express a positive, almost historical opening for the future” Shahara – Hayward Gallery youth group

Sunday 3rd October was the landmark launch of UpRise Anti-Racism Festival. Born out of the ashes of the former Rise festival, UpRise is a testimony of people power!
We’re happy to say that over 2000 people came out to UpRise to show their support, they danced in the rain, ate jumbo hot dogs to jerk chicken and shared good vibes. If you came down thank you :) and if you didn’t get a chance to catch it, watch the video to see what you missed!

Louis Vuitton and 5 partner galleries – South London Gallery, Tate Modern, Royal Academy of the Arts, Whitechapel Gallery and the Southbank Centre – have joined forces to form the ultimate artistic super group for the Louis Vuitton Young Arts Project.
Why? Because when you look at the last vanguard of British Artists such as Tracey Emin and Damien Hirst, the term YBA’s (Young British Artists) doesn’t quite ring so true. However we’re happy to be part of an initiative that will expose many bright young things to the art world through workshops (some led by crème de la crème of British artists) and a co-creation website that will engage other young folks on the subject.
We’re currently facilitating the co-creation process for this very exciting project, working with youth groups from each of the 5 institutions to create the brand identity and overarching creative brief for the website.

Virgin Media Pioneers is an exciting new programme that has been launched by Enterprise UK and Virgin Media to support young entrepreneurs.
The aim is to help youngsters get past some of the social and economic barriers of launching a business by providing a network of fellow entrepreneurial minds and ‘experts’ from various fields – this is where twenty%extra come in.
We’ll be sharing our know-how via video blogs (very web 2.0 darling) on branding and marketing matters and anything else that may pop up.
