We’ve had an exciting and sleepless week. We launched the beta version of the new LBB website as well as making our press debut.
This Tuesday we featured in the Metro’s ‘Behind the idea’; a section dedicated to creative industry and understanding the inspiration behind the idea. Get it…
The piece featured our roster of emerging creative talent; Sky Nash, Martina Paukova and Yinka Ilori.

This week Ansel took his home made womery to the FARM:shop to take part in Trade School London.
Armed with dead flowers, vegetables and cardboard, Ansel taught the workshop attendees how to create a self contained wormery.
In exchange for his knowledge and in the name of ‘barter’ he left with a water colour painting (painted whilst in the workshop), hand drawn illustrations and potted plants.
Look out on the blog for post on how you too can create your self contained urban wormery.

As you may have got a gist of by now, at twenty%extra we ain’t no ordinary creative agency. But you knew that right.
Our mission is to influence culture and society through our campaigns, our own brands and the amazingly talented people we have the privilege to work with.
Over a year ago we began working with The Insomniax on their branding. Call us crazy, but after putting together a brand strategy it began to make sense that we managed the band. Yep we are that passionate about them and their music.
We’re very pleased to announce that The Insomniax have formally signed to Earnest Endeavours, who will be releasing their Love She Wants EP in June. We’ll keep you posted of all the exciting developments of the journey. Feel free to come along for the ride too.

Over the coming months we’ll be making a few exciting announcements in the world of twenty%extra, so let’s start with the first.
Along with the brand new Let’s Be Brief (LBB) beta website launch in April, we are launching a new arm to LBB.
LBB will continue as a creative resource and workshop programme but with the added *POW* of functioning as a talent agency representing some of the amazing design talent the UK has to offer. Our first client and collaborator is product designer Yinka Ilori.
As our motto goes; ‘Yes You Can Have More’, we’re true to our word. We just wouldn’t be happy working as any old talent agency model. We will also provide brand and business support for our clients as well as product innovation collaboration (phew – that’s a mouth full).
Whilst that’s all cooking, have a look at Yinka in action at the British Library’s Spring Festival.

The Wide Awake Club literally earned its name with ‘The Art of Storytelling’ workshop. No sleeping was permitted metaphorically or otherwise whilst special guest – playwright, novelist and cultural commentator Bonnie Greer was around.
The session began with an accappella version of I Saw Her by Kai Gama from The Insomniax. This was a perfect opening for Bonnie, as the song’s narrative is based upon Gustav Freytag‘s five-part pyramid theory of dramatic structure.
Bonnie Greer proceeded to give a synopsis of the roots of western literary theory, touching on Aristotle to contemporary issues of ‘broken narrative’ (think Tarantino – Pulp Fiction’).
After much synaptic grey matter action, we went on to give examples of how narrative can be developed in communications and how it can prove decisive when engaging audiences.
If you haven’t attended The Wide Awake Club before – sign up for the next show. It’s not every comms workshop you get both rock‘n‘roll and academia rolled into one and all before lunchtime.

This is not only a critical time for young people in this country, but for young people everywhere. Critical times call for critical thinking, and it’s quite clear that the old guard needs an injection of new blood. That’s where Let’s Be Brief comes in.
Over the summer months our studio was full to brim as we welcomed back some of our LBB Crew: Makoto (LVYAP], Jade, Femi, Niquelle and Jonathan (LCRN).
We set them the task of helping to rebrand and redefine LBB as a proposition. Taking all that they had learnt on our workshop programme and some essential studio time, they didn’t disappoint. Jade even brought in biscuits.
Let’s Be Brief will re-launch in next year as a stand-alone youth engagement brand. Education through process is the way we work, and the portal will operate in much the same way. The site will be featuring exclusive content from esteemed creative industry practitioners, as we continue to shed a spotlight on the importance of good communication in all its forms.
We’re in the development stages at the minute, but because we don’t want to leave you hanging, you can still stay up to date on goings-on via the LBB Blog.

Culture is a healthy staple of the twenty%extra diet. Whether working with musical innovators such as The Insomniax or visiting some of the capital’s galleries and exhibitions to refuel our inspiration tanks.
So partnering with our friends over at Contemporary Vintage – a creative agency who specialise in connecting culture to audiences in new and unexpected ways – was a great opportunity to do more so in the future.
Check out the film of their recent Glamour Factory experience at The National Portrait Gallery – part of the Glamour of the Gods exhibition.

Everyone likes a compliment don’t they? So we blushed a little when we recently received feedback from Affinity Sutton on our Green Stories campaign;
“In terms of our digital marketing efforts, Green Stories is quite positively the most successful and engaging campaign we’ve done with our residents to date. The videos were spot on and enabled us to created high quality, dynamic content for our website which helped to increase traffic by 16%.” Emily Day, Digital Marketing Executive – Affinity Sutton
The success of the campaign inspired a new set of films based on re-edits of the originals. Each tells a story of how the residents set up their projects, while providing short tips on how to save on utilities and being that little bit greener. We also added a bit of type magic to make the garden grow.

We’re super stoked to have started working with new music events company Black Atlantic. We say new but they’ve already worked with some of the creme de la creme of electronic music, from Martyn to Moodyman, Joy Orbison and of course Apparat. We’ll be responsible for their art direction and graphic design.
