LBB is on your stereo with a monthly Saturday slot on NTS from 1pm – 2pm.
Shows so far on the show we’ve discussed the work of legendary Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer; talked ‘Paper Potential’ with vandal extraordinaire Ronzo and Emily Evans; Hip-Hop career breaks with international DJ / Broadcaster / DJ Big Ted and Creative Producer Kentake.
And there’s more as Jimmy Cricket used to say. The new Let’s Be Brief Show on NTS Radio. Design, music and culture collide on a Saturday.
We’ve been on the look out for writers and creative contributors for ourLet’s Be Brief web journal. They needed to have an eye for design, a penchant for politics and while being handy with a semi-colon.
In creating these posters to advertise this little recruitment drive, we ended up calling them Clever Foxes. It must have struck a nerve, as we’ve thankfully found some very clever foxes indeed. That said, one can never have too much of a good thing – take cake for example – so if you see yourself involved with LBB, please get in touch.
Save the date: Friday 19th April – 00.05am. Why? Well we’re a tad excited to reveal that we’ve recently produced the Love She Wants short film for The Insomniax, working with Director and all round lovely chap Johny Mourgue (Benga, Katy B).
Based on an original screenplay penned by Mark Anderson (Kai Gama) and James Anderson (DSV), there will be two versions of the film: a 3-minute Random Act to be aired on Channel 4, Friday 19th (just past midnight) with a full-length 10 minute edit to follow in the summer. Watch this space for more updates.
We recently we made our ‘twenty%extra / LBB Talent’ television debut for a new programme called Helping Hand by RDF.
Commissioned by the Foyer Federation, we produced a custom stencil typeface and brand identity / collateral for The Talent Shop: an alternative job opportunities broker and pop up shop targeted at young people.
Working with the organization, young residents we co-created a design that would appeal to young folks yet have a professional feel. Hosted by Bank Of Dave star David Fishwick, the programme aired Sunday 7 April 2013 at 20:00 on Channel 4.
“Cinematic brilliance from South London” says theEarnest Endeavourscrew, and we’re inclined to agree. The cinematic journey of Chrissy drops in musical form on Monday 17 September.
As far as The Insomniax are concerned, this is just the beginning…
If twenty%extra were to have a bundle of joy, LBBwould be it.
Initially starting life as the Let’s Be Brief educational workshop programme, teaching critical thinking and creative skills to young people. It then went on to develop as a co-creation and engagement tool in our various campaigns, from the Louis Vuitton Young Arts Project, Virgin Media Pioneers to Affinity Sutton’s Green Stories.
Since then it’s grown up and gone through another transformation. We have recently re-branded and relaunched LBB, as a talent agency and young creatives lifestyle and education platform. Lots more exciting stuff to come so watch this space.
The fragile state of the world ‘economy’; the perilously fragile state of Arsenal’s defence; going to a club without being able to pull. These are just some of the issues dear to the hearts of singers, songwriters, MC’s, producers and multi-instrumentalists Kai Gama and Dr Sydney Velvet: two brothers who together make up The Insomniax – The Poetic Sound System™.
A pinch of Punk’s intensity, a dash of Hip-Hop’s social commentary and large spoonfuls of the musical integrity that signifies our finest independent bands and voila, you have the INX sound.
We’re never one’s to take the orthodox route, which finds us working with The Insomniax on brand management as operating as official management for the group. This work in progress includes brand identity, art direction, website and brand strategy, along with everything else that group management entails. Sounds crazy but we love it.
